WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF PAGCL?
The symptoms of PAGCL start to manifest anywhere from three months to a year after the arthroscopic surgery. Some signs to watch for are:
- Increased shoulder pain
- Stiffness
- Restriction of motion range
- Weakness
- Clicking, popping or grinding of the joint
These symptoms are often similar to those experienced by the patient pre-surgery; ironically, a procedure designed to alleviate these problems results in their worsening. The cartilage will continue to deteriorate, and often the only option patients have is to undergo further surgery to replace the shoulder joint, a procedure known as arthroplasty which is extensive, painful, invasive, costly, and which usually requires a hospitalization of at least three days.
If you or a loved one has undergone shoulder surgery, and experienced any of the symptoms mentioned above, you should contact Douglas & London and speak with an attorney immediately. Our legal and medical experts can be reached by calling (212) 566-7500, or by writing to info@douglasandlondon.com.
